Many Factors contribute to inspiration when it comes to an architecture and interior photo shoot, and many of them came into play when I shot this sumer house in Florida near Miami. I new this after a short conversation with the Architects in my New York office. This contemporary LEED Platinum home was designed by the Chicago firm of Searle Lamaster Howe Architects and built by Kimco Construction of Sarasota. The home features a 100% whole house cistern system, solar water heating, and photovoltaic electricity generation among other sustainable green features. The Architects have been awarded the “Top 100 Architects & Designers” by Architectural Digest, the “AIA Distinguished Building Award”, and the “National AIA Interior Architecture Award” among others. This home is not to be missed as a practical example of the synergy of aesthetic form and sustainable function.
